Carrie is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Fine Art and worked as a therapist for several years before making the big move to Nosara, Costa Rica in 2005. Carrie has over 20 years of riding experience with a background in western, dressage and hunter/jumpers. She has been training horses and riders for over ten years. Carrie and her husband, Eder (Neno), are also the owners of our sister company, Playa Ponies, which offers horseback riding tours in Nosara as well as snorkeling tours. Carrie and Neno are proud parents of their eight-year-old daughter, Mayalin, seven rescue dogs, several cats, chickens and a growing herd of horses and often their house is brimming with Neno's nephews and cousins who love to help out around the stable.
Heidi is originally from California and moved to Nosara, Costa Rica in 2012. Heidi has always had a passion for animals and grew up riding horses (hunter/jumpers and western pleasure) and spending as much time as possible at the barn. Eventually she focused her love of animals and nature on the marine environment – earning her Master’s degree in International Environmental Policy and working on marine conservation issues in the Pacific region. After several years working on such issues, Heidi and her husband, Graham, decided to move to Costa Rica in search of a new lifestyle. Heidi has been regularly practicing yoga since 2003 and is a 500-hr RYT (200 hours of yoga teacher's training through YogaWorks with Kia Miller and 350+ hours of SmartFlow training with Annie Carpenter). Heidi is a certified SmartFlow yoga instructor. Heidi continues to study yoga and teaches regular yoga classes at her studio in Nosara as well as on retreats. She also has a blog that covers many of the topics that inspire her - horses, yoga and living mindfully. Heidi and Graham are proud parents to their son Nash, born in 2016, daughter Leela, born in 2018, three dog-children - Lily, Chichi and Lassie, two horse-children - Frisco and Lucas , cat - Chilito and her flock of chickens.
